Ohana Hope Village officially has Power!

Our EMPOWER highlight of the week: Ohana Hope Village officially has power!!

Exciting news from Ohana Hope Village! We're thrilled to announce that Ohana Hope Village has officially received power. The first completed unit is now fully operational off the grid, enabling us to power essential equipment like battery chargers and a refrigerated water cooler for our dedicated construction crew.

Ohana Hope Village is our collaborative effort with the Family Life Center to provide midterm housing solutions for the individuals displaced by the devastating Maui wildfires in August. Just last Thursday, on October 26th, we dropped an additional 90 pop-up containers on the site. We are now well-prepared to install even more dwellings, expanding our efforts to assist those in need.

These containers serve as the central living spaces for our housing units, boasting high-quality materials, advanced safety features, and exceptional flexibility. The versatility of these units allows us to combine multiple containers, creating larger living spaces to accommodate the unique needs of our community. What's more, each unit can be set up in a mere 3 to 5 minutes, ensuring efficiency and convenience.

In addition to the living spaces, we are committed to providing private bathrooms, kitchens, and screened lanai's, all of which will be sourced and assembled locally. This commitment not only enhances the quality of life for those we're assisting but also reinforces our dedication to investing in and developing skilled employment opportunities within the very same community we are here to support.

Ohana Hope Village is not just about housing; it's about empowerment and building a stronger, self-sustaining future for all those affected by the Maui wildfires. Our progress in providing power to our units is a significant step towards achieving that goal. We look forward to continuing this journey and making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
